They met on the deviantART forums. Marilyn (`InvaderMar) had made a thread in the Deviants Forum for people to leave their opinions on when Will (`Chimpantalones) came along and left a comment on her thread for the sake of it. She hadn't thought of replying to it due to receiving lots of comments; however, she had seen him around literally for years in #devart and other places despite never speaking to him, so she just replied with a witty comment pretending to be his "fangirl" for the day. Will was pretty much confused by this and found it to be very unusual but went along with it anyway.

Soon after, Will visited Marilyn's chatroom, #Fun4Fun, and got e-married there for a joke. It wasn't long before they decided to become a couple: uploading matching, conjoined avatars, visiting #Fun4Fun everyday to see each other, and even voicechatting with each other. Voicechat in particular was very amusing for both, seeing as he fell in love with her Scottish accent, and she became very attatched to his American accent.

After seven months without a single argument and endless streams of mushy conversations, Will's parents decided to pay for them all to travel to Scotland for a family holiday, but mainly just to see Marilyn. As that day came, their nerves got the best of them. He could barely withhold his excitement on the flights over, and she couldn't manage to fall asleep the night before his arrival. Knowing they were going to finally meet from half the world away from and wondering what on earth to expect was just too much. Upon finally reaching Glasgow, he waited for her to meet up with him at the hotel, gazing out from the hotel lobby window until she arrived. At that moment, they both laid eyes on each other in person for the first time after nearly eight months of online contact. Will's first thoughts were, "Damn, she's beautiful," and Marilyn's were, "Oh my God, it's actually him!" When it came time for Will to return to America, the departure put them both to tears as they both lay awaiting their next meet and wishing it could last forever.
